A task-first machine index
This page starts with the job a machine performs instead of asking you to scan a long alphabetical list. It covers selected machines whose input, output or stop condition appears in a current official source. Exact rates, energy requirements and unlock details stay out unless they have been checked against a named game version.
- 01Name the material or action you need
- 02Choose processing, transport, liquid or control
- 03Confirm the supported input and output
- 04Check the first failure condition
- 05Open a verified detail guide when available
Use these functional groups:
- Processing: Shaker, Kinetic Press and Steam Dryer change or separate materials.
- Solid transport: Conveyor Belts move solid pixels; Launchers move them upward and can output to a side with an angled top.
- Liquid transport: Pump, Pipe and Liquid Vent belong to the separate Water transport guide.
- Control: Filter uses Allow or Block behavior to control material passage.
- Heat, energy and research: these remain index categories, but individual machines are not added until their fact cards are verified.
Confirmed input and output cards
Verified starter machine cards
- Shaker
- Wet Sand input; Burnt Residue and Gold outputs; exact rates omitted
- Kinetic Press
- Burnt Residue input; Gold and Seed outputs; minimum input is version sensitive
- Steam Dryer
- Amethelis plus Steam input; Dry Amethelis output; not a Wet Sand or Wet Seed processor
- Filter
- Allow or Block material logic; internal material changes can cause a clog
- Conveyor Belt
- Moves solid pixels in its travel direction
- Launcher
- Moves solid pixels upward and can use an angled top for side output
Shaker
Use the Shaker when the chain needs to process Wet Sand and separate Burnt Residue and Gold. Its precise production rate is version sensitive. When planning a downstream Kinetic Press, first confirm that Burnt Residue exists as a distinct output rather than designing around an assumed ratio.
Kinetic Press
The Kinetic Press processes Burnt Residue and produces Gold and Seed. It has a focused Kinetic Press guide because its input state, minimum material and retained output create several distinct failure modes.
Steam Dryer
The Steam Dryer accepts Amethelis and Steam and outputs Dry Amethelis. It does not process Wet Sand or Wet Seed. If the wrong material is waiting at the machine, correct the recipe assumption before changing transport.
Filter
The Filter supports Allow and Block logic. A change in its internal material can cause a clog. Diagnose the filter state and material identity before adding more feed pressure.
Choose a failure route
Machine failures are easier to solve when they are classified before the layout is rebuilt.
Machine diagnosis order
- 1Confirm the machine matches the intended transformation
- 2Confirm the input material identity
- 3Confirm the minimum input state is satisfied
- 4Remove foreign material
- 5Inspect the output and handoff space
- 6Check Filter state or transport direction
- 7Retest one machine without the full production line
No input
Look upstream. Confirm the source actually produces the expected material, then watch one item cross each handoff. A visually connected route may still deliver the wrong solid or stop before the machine boundary.
Input present but no processing
Check quantity, height and foreign material where the machine has a documented requirement. For the Kinetic Press, input height and contamination at the top matter. Do not generalize those exact conditions to every machine.
Output present but not leaving
Separate processing from transport. Create a temporary empty output area. If the machine produces into that area, the remaining problem is direction, capacity or a downstream obstruction.
Filtered route stops
Inspect Allow or Block mode and the material represented inside the Filter. A changed internal material can explain a clog even when the surrounding belts continue moving.

Use Kinetic Press input, output and troubleshooting for the Burnt Residue threshold, material on top of the Press, Gold and Seed separation, and Shaker-to-Press feeding.
Use the Beginner Guide when the machine chain is part of the first Water, Wet Sand, Shaker, Kinetic Press and Flower route. Use Plants when Seed has already left the Press and the problem concerns Wet Seed or the Planter Box.
Use Water systems when a machine appears dry or the missing input is Water or Steam. Liquid-network troubleshooting should not be mixed with solid-belt troubleshooting.
How to read these machine cards
Confirmed means the displayed relationship appears in a dated official source. Version sensitive means the basic relationship is supported while a quantity, timing or behavior may change. Unknown means the field is not yet supported and stays blank rather than being inferred from another machine.
Players also search for the Flux Emanator, Slag Burner, Shaker setups and other machines. Those names are useful signals, but a search result alone cannot tell you the current recipe, unlock point or energy use. A new card joins this index only after its task, input, output and at least one meaningful stop condition can be checked together.
A useful machine card needs more than a name and screenshot. It should answer what the machine does, what goes in, what comes out, what must be true before it starts and what commonly stops it. It should also point to the next guide when the failure belongs to Water, solid transport or a downstream material instead of the machine itself. If a critical field is unknown, the card says so. If the input or output is still disputed, the machine stays out rather than appearing as a speculative entry.
The index and detail guides have different jobs. This page compares machines and routes you to the right system. A detail guide owns the ordered setup, troubleshooting tree and FAQ. The Kinetic Press therefore gets a full guide, while the Shaker remains a concise card until there is enough current evidence for a separate, useful task route.
When a machine you need is missing, check the current in-game description and official Wiki entry first. Do not copy a rate or recipe from an undated table. Record the game version if you test it yourself, keep the inputs and outputs visible, and compare repeated starts from the same empty state. That produces a more useful answer than a card that looks complete but cannot help diagnose a stopped line.
